I remember the awesome feeling of hitting a saturday afternoon and knowing there's a new episode of #MST3K coming.  Of dialing into a world that's so like – but also just a little unlike – our own, where robot puppets come to life and bad movies can leak characters that wander through the show, where it's completely normal for Frank to be able to remove his head.

I want +Cinematic For The People  to be that.  Not some viral video on YouTube that entertains people for 20 seconds and is gone.  I deal in concrete bricks that will be there to support you (and future episodes) for decades to come, not cotton candy fluff of ephemera that is there and gone.  So my load is heavier, but it'll be here… when you need it.

Hey, do you like #MST3K ?  Did you ever watch it and think "Hey, I can do that?"  Well… so did we… and now we are.  +Cinematic For The People riffs on movies, serials, and shorts, with a dozen or so "full episodes" (complete with host segments) being posted each year – FOR FREE – on youtube.

CFTP is looking for a few extra hands – specifically some on-air talent for coming episodes.  Specifically, we're looking to pick up another 1-2 guest riffers to fill our ever-rotating "Fourth Riffer" chair, as well as people to play a couple of parts for the new storyline we're running throughout the Second Series.  So… do you have a webcam, and possibly a few hours free on Wednesday evenings?  Ever want to be in a crappy youtube tv show?  Then let us know.

One more shameless self promotion, then I'll leave you all alone

for now… have you seen the fully produced, huge epic +Cinematic For The People Christmas Special yet?  Join the CFTP crew as we invade +Mike Dellheim's apartment for a surprise Christmas party, including watching – and riffing – the 1984 British slasher film, Don't Open Until Christmas

There's Santa murder.  So much Santa murder.

If you are a fan of #mst3k , #rifftrax , #cinematictitanic , maybe you could give our humble show a try?

If anybody would like to get me a free and simple Christmas present

I have a suggestion.  As some of you know, some friends of mine and I make a tv show.  Unfortunately, I am terrible at shameless self promotion, I always get so nervous and worried about "spamming" people with links… so despite putting a ton of hard work and man hours into making this show, we're still lingering in relative obscurity…

So… for Christmas, all I am asking of #secretsanta or anybody else is that you tell someone you know who likes MST3K about my internet TV show.  Share this post, send them a link, write it in sharpie on their forehead after they pass out… whatever works for you.

About Cinematic For The People

Cinematic For The People, or CFTP, is a group of friends who meet regularly over the internet to mock movies.  The show features the riffing, as well as some glimpses into our lives and the meetings around the riffing in the form of "Intermission" host segments.

We just finished Series 1, which had 13 full movies, and are prepping for Series 2, which is going to have more plot, more characters, and more bad movies.  Our hope is to capture some of the spirit and feel of the early day MST3K episodes.

Unlike practically every other riffing group out there, we are GIVING THE SHOW AWAY FOR FREE.  All our episodes are posted to our website and YouTube account.  Since we're doing it for "the love" and not "the money", it wouldn't hurt to throw some love our way… would it?

As promised, Episode 11 is up!

Reshared post from +Cinematic For The People

As promised, Episode 11 is up!

Cinematic For The People lends their commentary to 1955's The Fast and The Furious, a film that pushes the limits of false advertising by being neither particularly fast nor overly furious. A movie that plods along for the first hour or so before exploding into a fury of semi-action for the last few minutes, driving over vast tracks of countryside and through giant plot holes.

Intermission Segments:
The Louisville Incident – Jim's morning began with him waking up on a couch in a garage in Louisville. His day went… downhill… from there.
Truth, Justice, and The Canadian "Eh?" – Exploring what would've happened if Superman had landed in Canada as a child.
Mark – getting to know our newest Guest Riffer, Mark.

WRITERS

As you probably know now, I'm the producer and one of the stars of  +Cinematic For The People, an online bi-weekly tv show… thingy.  If you ever saw Mystery Science Theater 3000, we're like that… but with a lower budget.

We've been doing "host segments" with our movies for a little while now, but mostly they're unscripted segments from pre-or-post recording when we just start arguing about something.  We're looking to start doing some real, actual, scripted segments with Series 2 (starting in a couple months or so)… but we need someone to write them.

I know this is the crappiest paragraph in any "job offer" thing on the internet – I'm a cartoonist, so I'm used to seeing people try and take advantage of my creative abilities.  I won't lie or try and butter you up – this is not likely ever going to be a paying gig.  So far, most of the members of CFTP have put themselves considerably in the hole, financially, trying to get us out there.  We're doing this for the love, the experience, and the internet fames.

Yes, we're idiots.  My team is made of loveable idiots, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

So… if you've ever had any interest in doing comedy segments, writing scripts, working with a team to make a tv show sort of thing, and occasionally getting drug along to conventions with the rest of the team – say the word.
